Common Questions

I created a powder alert, but I’m not getting any emails.

PowderScout alerts are designed to represent trips you might actually take — they’re highly specific. An alert only sends an email when the entire alert date window falls within the next two weeks, all your conditions are met (minimum snow, budget, travel time, and so on), and the alert is turned on. If any of those criteria aren’t satisfied, you won’t receive a notification.

How does PowderScout rank resorts in Scout results?

Our default recommended ranking prioritizes the best powder bang for your buck and time. We weigh snow conditions at each resort against trip cost and travel time. You can always sort results by other factors on the results page — we just lead with our recommendation by default.

Why isn’t a certain resort showing up in results or on the resorts page?

PowderScout doesn’t cover every ski resort in the world yet. We’re focused primarily on resorts that matter most to powder chasers, which sometimes means smaller local hills aren’t included. If there’s a resort you’d like to see added, email us at support@powderscout.com.
